Smith, Gildea & Schmidt Wins Approval for New Sparrows Point 7-Eleven

New 7-Eleven to replace current store with addition of 10 fuel pumps

A new 7-Eleven® convenience store and fuel service station has been approved within the Sparrows Point community of Baltimore County. The project site encompasses approximately 1.5 acres of land at 2324 Sparrows Point Road. The location of this future 7-Eleven convenience store with fresh food offerings and fuel, which will front on both Sparrows Point Road and North Point Boulevard, will be in close proximity to the Sparrows Point Terminal that is set for major redevelopment. It also is adjacent to the Chesapeake Enterprise Zone, which extends along North Point Boulevard and is intended to encourage redevelopment within this community. “This is really a win for the Sparrows Point community as a whole,” said Christopher Corey, attorney at Smith, Gildea & Schmidt who represented 7-Eleven, Inc. “This project will contribute a substantial investment aimed at rejuvenating an underutilized and dilapidated portion of the North Point Boulevard corridor, while at the same time providing a use that is in high demand within this evolving community.” In issuing the zoning approval for this project, John E. Beverungen, the Administrative Law Judge for Baltimore County, granted the requested Petition for Special Exception, which will allow extensive changes to the property. While a 7-Eleven convenience store currently exists on the site, there are not any fuel pumps located on the property. The revised plan also includes razing the vacant bank building currently on the property adjacent to North Point Boulevard and constructing in its place a larger and remodeled 7-Eleven convenience store with fresh food offerings, along with 10 gas pumps. Inside the nearly 3,000-square foot store, customers will find 7-Eleven favorites along with the company’s private-brand products. 7-Eleven’s private brand, 7-Select, boasts snacks and food products of higher quality than national brands sharing shelf space with them at a cost of 10-20 percent less. Hot foods available at this location are expected to include Big Bite® hot dogs, taquitos, chicken wings, and whole and by-the-slice pizza. 7-Eleven favorites such as Slurpee® and Big Gulp® drinks, coffee and other hot beverages, made-daily fresh salads, sandwiches, snack trays, cut fruit and bakery items also will be available. Customers should find everything they need to meet their typical convenience needs. – See more at: http://baltimore.citybizlist.com/article/323041/smith-gildea-schmidt-wins-approval-for-new-sparrows-point-7-eleven#sthash.dszKi9zG.dpuf
