Smith, Gildea & Schmidt, LLC (SGS) is pleased to announce Mariela D’Alessio has joined the firm as an associate attorney. Her practice will focus on estate planning and estate and trust administration.
Prior to joining SGS, D’Alessio was an associate attorney in the estates and trusts department at Bodie, Dolina, Hobbs, Friddell & Grenzer PC since 2011. She graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in December 2010, having fulfilled the Juris Doctorate requirements in two and a half years. While in law school, she served as a judicial intern to Judge Peter L. Dearing, Probate Division of the Fourth Circuit of Duval County, Florida.
In 2005, D’Alessio earned a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-law studies from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University). After graduation, she worked as a paralegal at Bodie, Dolina, Hobbs, Friddell & Grenzer PC during which time she gained invaluable experience in estate planning and estate and trust administration prior to attending law school.
D’Alessio, who was born on Long Island, New York, has been a resident of Harford County for the past twenty years. She was named a Rising Star for 2014 on the annual list of top attorneys in Maryland in Super Lawyers Magazine.

D’Alessio is licensed to practice law in Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association (BCBA), and the Young Lawyer Section of BCBA. She is also a member of the Business Law, Out-of-State Practitioners Division, Real Property Probate and Trust Law, and the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the York County Bar Association.
