Jason T. Vettori

Jason T. Vettori joined Smith, Gildea & Schmidt in 2005. He became a partner in 2019.

Jason’s practice focuses on Real Estate Law, with a focus on Land Use (Zoning and Development), Real Estate and Business Transactions and Liquor License law. He facilitates land use approvals for local, regional, and national developers in complex commercial, industrial, institutional and residential development matters. Jason has appeared in various courts and before administrative agencies and tribunals throughout the state, although he primarily assists clients in the Baltimore metropolitan region.

The political climate and land use regulations vary according to the municipality in which a project is proposed. Jason has cultivated relationships with key local decision-makers and elected officials and his knowledge of the applicable rules and regulations allows him to quickly analyze the best path forward for what his clients are proposing. He supports clients in the development and zoning process with his intimate knowledge of local conditions and markets. He has experience handling matters related to zoning verification approvals, variance approvals, special exception/conditional use approvals, zoning text amendments, comprehensive zoning map process changes, approvals associated with the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area (including growth allocation) and water and sewer amendments, whether through an administrative official or the quasi-judicial body by working with different stakeholders to help accomplish clients’ goals.
